You need to part with your beloved books: We're here to help. We've been Pittsburgh's largest independent used bookstore for over 13 years, and we're always looking for great books. We buy at each of our stores, and you can bring in up to 6 book boxes (approximately 16'x12'x12) to either of our stores between 12 and 6 p.m. Monday-Friday (If you have more than that, please call us to make sure we have the space and time to accommodate more.) Squirrel Hill: 412-421-7000 Downtown: 412-471-1899
Books we want: We're especially looking for: current and very recent literary and non-fiction best-sellers (less than one or two years old), philosophy, science-fiction, fantasy, and horror, graphic novels, chess books, scholarly books in all fields, rare and collectible books, counter-cultural authors, classic literature, recent art and architecture books in great condition only, college textbooks in current classroom use,
We pay well for the most desirable, swiftly saleable hard-to-come-by books. For more common books in good condition, we'll sometimes only be able to offer store-credit. We are admittedly picky, and we cannot take everything we are brought. We'll travel for large desirable collections.
Unfortunately, we're not able to take everything, as our space is finite and only want to buy what we know we can sell. We generally prefer not to buy old textbooks, ex-library books, novelty books, encyclopedias, almanacs, popular fiction hardcovers more than a few years old, old Reader's Digest condensed books, or anything marred or stinky. Basically, we most like to buy the books that most people like to hold onto for themselves.
